Starting in 1987, Mark became interested in the Macintosh computer and the creative possibilities it opened up to the world and to him. Both in the musical world , as that was his previous background, and in the burgeoning field of multimedia, still in its infancy.
Mark decided to sign up for the, at that time, brand new program at Capilano College in North Vancouver, B.C., targeted at this new field: the Applied Information Technology program. A 10 month non-certificate program. After this program he stepped right into a two year position at Motion Works, an award winning multimedia company in Vancouver, B.C. He worked on custom multimedia projects for companies and organisations such as: MacMillan Bloedel, Canadian Airlines; the Ministry of the Attorney General; B.C. Dairy Foundation; B.C.'s Children's Hospital; and the Ministry of Tourism.
He stayed in the multimedia business for about 13 years working either full time or as a contractor until the dot bomb implosion around 2001 and 2002. It was then that he decided to pursue his love of boats and the water and develop a career in the yachting industry.

Below are several examples of the projects Mark was involved with or created over the years.

Created a DVD slide show for Calixas Yachts for the 2007 Miami Boat Show. This presentation was designed to run on a flat screen TV set up in the Calixas Yachts booth. The opening has animated 3D water that Mark created with a textual introduction that segues into the slide show created using photos shot by Neil Rabinowitz. This DVD was created using a bit of trickery. Normally a DVD has a menu and cannot loop. This DVD has no menu and automatically starts playing when inserted into a normal DVD player, it then will loop continuously. Perfect for a boat show. Click to view.

Created this interactive CD-ROM comic book for kids back in the early 1990's. Early virtual corporation with each member of the production team (there were three of us) living in different cities. Graphic elements were transferred through direct computer link-up via telephone line. No Internet. I was responsible for media integration, programming, game design, sound design, music, and voice characterizations.
